Mr Gray has matriculated through Wilkerson Elementary and Gardendale High School in Birmingham, Alabama.  He went on to attend Florida A&M University graduating with a degree in  Elementary Education. He later obtained his Masters in Ed. Leadership from Clark Atlanta University.

Bio

              Mr. Gerald W. Gray, Jr. has a track record of successful teaching and inspiring children’s lives. He has been teaching for over fifteen years. He grew up loving to help and show others how to do something which set the stage for teaching, tutoring, and mentoring.

                Mr. Gray was born in Albany, Georgia, but grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. After completing his formative education in Birmingham, Mr. Gray attended Florida A&M University where he majored in Elementary Education. He was also a member of the Florida Future Educators of America. He also became a member of the world’s famous FAMU Marching ‘100’ Band. He played scotch bass drum and later became bass drum section leader for his last 2 years due to his dedication, commitment, and leadership. During his collegiate years, he tutored throughout the Tallahassee area. This allowed him to foster relationships with students some who would later become RATTLERS! He also worked with the Upward Bound Trio Program Program at FAMU. After graduating, Mr. Gray joined the faculties of Fourth Ward and G. W. Northcutt Elementary, where he taught Fifth and Second grade. While at Northcutt, he sponsored a male mentoring group called The Male Connection.

                For the past fourteen years, Mr. Gray has mainly taught Fifth grade with an emphasis on teaching Math and Science at R. N. Fickett Elementary. He loved to help students learn to love math through patience, understanding, and hard work. Mr. Gray has worked with the Afterschool program, the Beta and Robotics club, choir, and served as Science Fair Coordinator/Chairman. He also headed the UPS Male Mentoring Program and the Drummin’ Trojans drum section. Mr. Gray looks forward to teaching, growing, and inspiring children at Havana Magnet.
